About Me

Hello. Bonjour. Ciao.

To those who somehow have stumbled upon my blog, my name is Libby. I am a 20-something-year-old who recently graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison with a degree in Marketing and Communications. Soon after graduation, I picked up and moved to Angers, France to teach English.

After studying abroad in Florence, Italy for 4 and a half months, I was forced to leave kicking and screaming and I didn't want my time in Europe to be over (sorry, cliche I know...). So, as graduation approached I found myself looking for more jobs internationally than state-side. I was presented with the opportunity to move to France and teach English to elementary school kids. While I hold a degree in communications and not education, I also studied French. This position gave me the chance to continue living in Europe and also improve my French skills, which I hoped to do one day anyways.

I have been in Angers {a city just west of Paris} for almost 6 months. I originally created this blog as a travel blog during my time in Italy. However, my love for writing took over and I decided to broaden the horizons of the blog to any adventure I may encounter since I am "Aik-ing for Adventure" and all. (Also a little play-by-play in case some people don't get the title, my last name is Aik, so aik-ing instead of "aching" - lol I tried) ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This blog will cover anything from traveling, to travel tips, teaching abroad, diet tips, fitness, and overall health posts. Aside from my love for travel, I am very passionate about food and fitness. I was diagnosed with hypothyroidism over 5 years ago and have been on the road to recovery ever since. I have done immense research and been to many doctors and dietitians who have helped me become more knowledgable and educated on not only hypothyroidism, but overall health.

So, if you decided to do TheSkimm version of this bio, here is me in less than 10 words:
Food
Fitness
Travel
Ginger
Brunch
Christmas (Best time of the year)
Sports (Especially the Green Bay Packers - GO PACK GO)
Red Wine

*Not kidding that is me in a list.
**Also side note, if anyone didn't get my "Skimm" reference, you're lacking a very solid part of your morning...check it out and subscribe here: TheSkimm

But any-who, whatever content I decide to spit out, I hope it is readable and enjoyable!
